The first domain of the Danielson Framework for Teaching is all about planning and preparation. This domain is all about knowing your students and how they learn best. It is the teachers job to prevent any misconceptions that the students may have. Every students learns just a little differently so a teacher must know how to reach each student in the way they present their content and even in assessment. In doing this, is shows that the teacher know their students. It is also the teachers job to provide their students with valuable resources that will benefit them in their learning. The biggest thing to take away from this domain is to know your students! The best way to reach your students is to know their needs! If you know your content and your students needs then you are headed towards the right path.
The second domain of the Danielson Framework for Teaching is all about the classroom environment. In the classroom, it is very important to build a community. In this small community, the students respect one another. The encourage each other, and they know that anything close to bullying is not acceptable in that classroom. Another important thing is to establish a culture for learning. This means that your students are excited to learn and look forward to overcoming a challenge in learning. In the classroom, your students should also know what you expect of them. This meaning that they know what types of behavior are or are not acceptable in your classroom. This means that your students know the classroom procedures and know what is expected of them during times of instruction. Finally, the physical space itself is very important. The way that a classroom is organized can affect the learning of the students. The classroom also has to be a safe place in all senses of the word. These are some very important things to be aware of as a teacher.
The third domain of the Danielson Framework of Teaching is about instruction. One of the most important aspects of this domain is communication with your students. Telling your students what you expectations of them are and giving them feedback on test, quizzes, and assignments are crucial to their growth. This way students know what they need to work and improve on and also what they are doing well with. An important part of instruction is to engage your students in learning. There are all sorts of different technology tools that can engage your students in learning and give them a more hands on experience. Finally, being flexible in your instruction is very important. Things may not always go exactly as planned, and teachers have to be ready to change a lesson up or change an activity so that it will better benefit the students.
The fourth domain of the Danielson Framework for Teaching is about the many different responsibilities that teachers have. One of the first things that is very important for a teacher to do is to reflect. Teachers need to take the time to look back on a lesson and think of what they did well, or what they could have changed to make the lesson better. Another thing that is important for teacher is to keep accurate records. Teachers should have a clear and organized system that shows the growth of their students. In keeping accurate records, teachers will be able to communicate accurate information at parents and keep them involved in the classroom and their children. Also, it is very important for teachers to be life long learners. Teachers need to connect with each other. They can build a great community and support each other. These are some important factors to domain four.
All of these domain bring something important to educators. These domains show educators what things are essential to being an influential educator. Following these domains means that the educator wants to be the best that they can be for their students. They keep their students in mind in everything that they do so that their students can grow and be the best that they can be. This is why these domains are so important. They set up both educators and students to be successful in the things that they do. This does not mean that they will be successful all the time, but it gives a framework for how to continually improve and grow.
